Next Steps Gathering
Every November our Young Leaders present the Council and their work to friends and family at an intimate gathering aimed to raise awareness, educate and engage friends and family in their mission and work. We also welcome Sweet Readers interested in applying for the Council as high school students or rising 9th graders and their families.
Make a Stand/Take a Stand
Every Spring and Summer our Young Leaders spearhead a growing initiative to raise awareness about Alzheimer’s, Caregiving, Youth Engagement and Brain Health. Young people and their families set up stands stocked with valuable information, resources and home baked goods as they raise awareness and funds to bring Sweet Readers to more isolated adults in need.
This initiative is open to the public and in 2018 we will post instructions and all of the information you’ll need to Make a Stand and Take a Stand for our most vulnerable older adults.
Community Action Afternoon
Every April, in conjunction with Global Youth Service Day, Sweet Readers hosts an action- packed community day to get families moving, thinking, relaxing and nourishing their brains and bodies in brain health! With help from our community partners, we have created an event that inspires everyone to protect their brains against Alzheimer’s and live better!
Insights & Appreciation Gathering
Every May Sweet Readers hosts a special gathering to share what we’ve learned over the past year and celebrate the leaders in each of our communities.
