You have been accepted to the Sweet Readers Leadership Council (the "Council") for the 2019-20 school year and we are delighted to include you in this impactful work! The Council's mission is to build Sweet Readers communities and raise awareness about Alzheimer's and brain as we grow our movement to change the way people engage with and for isolated adults in need. The Council is a division of Sweet Readers, Inc. ("Sweet Readers"), a 501(c)3 public charity formed in 2011 and based in Manhattan. I may be excused for illness or special circumstances. More than two unexecused absenses will result in my being dropped from the Council. Divisional Duties. I will serve as a role model for the Junior Leaders in my division and with Sweet Readers everywhere, collaborate with my fellow Young Leaders and defer to the Council Handbook and/or the Council Co-Presidents for any questions I may have over the course of the year. I will diligently carryout the objectives we together set for the school year and be respectful of the Council and Sweet Readers in all of my contacts both within and outside of the Council. Commuity Building Events & Pilots. I agree to actively participate in three annual Sweet Readers events: The Council's Next Steps Gathering; The Make-A-Stand/ Take-A-Stand program (which happens in both the fall and spring); and The Insights & Appreciation Gathering. Each year the Council is instrumental in starting at least one new Sweet Readers community. During spring break I may have the option of leading a pilot at the new community. Policies & Procedures. I promise to read the Leadership Council Handbook thoroughly and adhere to the policies and protocols set forth within it. If, at the end of this school year, if Sweet Readers invites me back, I will have the option of continuing with the Council for the whole of the 2020-21 school year, assuming I am still actively enrolled in high school.
