The Poetry of Art is a one day workshop or one of the sessions in a larger program, held in a museum gallery, senior center or school. In this program, led by a museum educator or certified instructor, we explore three – four works of art and inspire Sweet Readers and Adults to discover the poetry within each piece and in fact, the poetry within each other. We start with a theme which threads through each artwork and leads to a sharing of personal experiences.
Sweet Readers come to the program with an original poem they’ve written for a specific work and after presenting their poetry in an interactive fashion to the adults, Sweet Readers collaborate with the adults to create a new, original art-based poem together.
