Why Sweet Readers?

Sweet Readers Matter because….

1.  Middle School is an interesting time in a child’s life.  It’s when a child transitions from being a young child to becoming a young adult.  Emotionally, physically and intellectually they are transforming right before our eyes.  Sweet Readers provides a wonderful opportunity for our kids, just at the time when they’re discovering who they are and what really matters, to make a real difference in the world.  We enable your child to see beyond the masks of aging and special needs and explore people and the arts in new ways.  We help them to communicate more effectively and best of all, they get to realize the power of compassion first hand and in a surprisingly short order of time.

2.  Alzheimer’s Disease is an epidemic that knows no boundary; the sooner we find a cure the better.  Finding a cure is expensive.  Government funding is not enough.  Significant corporate funding bypasses the elderly.  Sweet Readers brings a new face to Alzheimer’s Disease and a new ability to form a powerful community to raise the significant funds necessary to give scientists and researchers the help they desperately need.

3.  And until we end Alzheimer’s Disease, the best thing we can do is help ease the strain on families, caregivers and our healthcare system of this ravaging disease.  Sweet Readers programs do exactly that.  They provide critical stimulation and improved quality of life to older adults who are suffering while giving their caregivers a chance to relax and enjoy some of the time while they are working, allow them to have time off and also provide them with stimulating activities to help fill the seemingly endless hours of this challenging disease.
